Urmia

Urmia (Orumiyeh) is the capital of West Azerbaijan province in Iran's far northwest, sitting at about 1,332 metres on a fertile plain between Lake Urmia and the Turkish border, roughly 740 km from Tehran and only around 20 km from Turkey at the closest crossing.
