Udupi is a coastal town in Karnataka, 60km north of Mangalore, renowned as one of South India's most important Vaishnavite pilgrimage centers, the birthplace of a globally famous vegetarian cuisine (Udupi cuisine), and a gateway to some of Karnataka's best beaches and islands.
