South Tarawa

South Tarawa is the capital and only urban area of Kiribati: a roughly 30-kilometre coral spine of linked islets running along the southern rim of Tarawa Atoll, with the open Pacific pounding one side and a mirror-calm turquoise lagoon on the other.
