Shamakhi

Shamakhi (also spelled Şamaxı) is one of Azerbaijan's oldest and most historically significant cities, located approximately 120 km west of Baku in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus. For centuries it was the capital of the Shirvan Khanate and a major Silk Road transit city.
