The Serengeti is Tanzania's most celebrated national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, covering 1.5 million hectares (14,750 sq km) of endless grass plains, riverine woodlands, and acacia scrub in northern Tanzania near Lake Victoria and the Kenya border.
