Pondicherry

Pondicherry (officially Puducherry, colloquially Pondy) is a Union Territory on the southeast coast of India, 151 km from Chennai. A former French colony (French East India Company established here in 1674, French rule until 1954), it uniquely blends Tamil and French cultures.
