Oruro

Oruro is a mining city on the Bolivian altiplano at about 3,735 metres (12,250 ft), roughly 3.5-4 hours south of La Paz on the road to Uyuni. For most of the year it is a plain, cold, workaday highland city of wide streets, brick-and-concrete blocks and a strong Uru and Aymara identity.
