Matamata

Matamata is a Waikato farming town in New Zealand's North Island, known worldwide as the gateway to the Hobbiton Movie Set, which sits on private farmland at 501 Buckland Road, Hinuera, Matamata 3472. The town's name means 'headland' and its recorded history goes back to 1830.
