Kaikoura
Kaikoura is a coastal town on the east side of New Zealand's South Island, wedged between the craggy Kaikoura Ranges and the Pacific Ocean on State Highway 1. Its name comes from the Maori kai (food) and koura (crayfish), and crayfish is still the town's calling card.
