Izu

The Izu Peninsula juts south from Shizuoka Prefecture about 100 km southwest of Tokyo, and is one of the capital's classic weekend escapes. It is known for hot springs, a dramatic and varied coastline, white sand beaches, a mild climate and a mountainous, waterfall-cut interior.
