Ise

Ise is a city in Mie Prefecture built around Ise Jingu, Japan's most sacred Shinto shrine complex. The complex is not a single site but two main shrines several kilometres apart, the Naiku (Inner Shrine) and the Geku (Outer Shrine), plus more than 100 affiliated shrines, 125 in total.
