Datong
Datong is a historic city in northern Shanxi Province, once the capital of the Northern Wei dynasty and a key stop on the ancient Silk Road. It is most famous for the Yungang Grottoes — a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing over 50,000 Buddhist statues carved between 453-495 AD.
