Addis Ababa is the capital of Ethiopia and the diplomatic capital of Africa, seat of the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa. It sits at roughly 2,350 m in the central highlands, which keeps the climate mild and spring-like almost all year despite its near-equatorial latitude.
